In Matthew 28:19-20, Christ commands us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” At Westside Baptist Church, we desire to obey Christ’s instructions by establishing missions programs and/or supporting missionaries throughout the world.
Our efforts began in El Salvador, a very small country in Central America that has a significant and troubling problem with gang activity which is robbing many young people of their future and, at times, their lives. In 2013, Westside Baptist Church partnered with a few faithful believers in El Salvador and set out on a mission to rescue the children and young people from the ongoing violence and to win their souls for Christ. God continues to add to the church, and the majority of the members are children and young people. They go from house to house evangelizing and are currently training the youth in how to do evangelism as well. The church has several other ministries through which they serve their community, such as The Good Samaritan ministry that helps to meet the community’s food needs while sharing the gospel with them. Westside Baptist Church: El Salvador also offers English classes that provide another opportunity to share the love of Christ.
In the future, we would like to expand our missions programming into other countries. Please continue praying for our mission in El Salvador and future missions projects. If you would like to donate and help us continue spreading the gospel throughout the world, please contact the church at descalera@wbcbb.com.
